Best Autumn smell - Molasses cookies baking. Best Autumn taste - Warm Molasses cookies fresh out of the oven. One of the reasons why I love these cookies so much is because they are so nostalgic for me. This is a recipe my mom always made, and her mother always made, and I'm pretty sure my great grandmother always made also. I always double this recipe!
Cream together -
3/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
Add -
1/4 cup molasses
1 egg
Add -
2 tsp soda
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
Roll dough into 1 inch balls, then roll in white sugar.
Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes.
