I love this soup, but hate sea food. That tells you how good it is. It is so creamy and good!
1 cup onions, finely chopped 1½ teas. salt
1 cup celery, finely chopped ½ teas. sugar
2 cups potatoes, peeled and chopped pepper to taste
¾ cup butter (1½ cubes) 2 - 6.5 oz. minced clams
¾ cup flour
1 quart milk
Place chopped veggies in pot. Add water to barely cover. Bring to boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer. 25-30 minutes until tender. Do not drain.
In a separate pot melt butter over medium-high heat. Add flour, salt, sugar and pepper stirring and cooking one minute.
Add milk and stir until thickened. Add white sauce to vegetable mix. Add drained clams. If you want more clam flavoring, add the liquid from one of the cans of clams. Season with pepper and salt.
Eat with yummy bread and side salad.

delicious. i'm making this.
Haha Bailey....
I always used to put in one can of minced clams and a half pound of crumbled bacon. Okay, maybe it was more like a pound. Everything is better with bacon!
